About performing at Tablelands Music Lovers

TML is the Atherton Tablelands’ longest-running not-for-profit live music venue, operated entirely by volunteers who are passionate about providing artists with a platform to perform and connect with an audience.

We provide free promotion for every artist who performs at a TML hosted event.  Every event receives the same level of promotion across our channels supplemented by organic word-of-mouth helping many of our shows attract large venue filling audiences.

However, artists should also do as much of their own promotion as possible. Ultimately, audience attendance depends on an artist’s ability to generate interest and draw a crowd.

We particularly value artists who maintain a basic online presence, including an up-to-date bio, recent demo samples and performance videos that we can share with our members and patrons.

When a show attracts only a very small audience despite receiving the same promotional support we provide to all our events, the turnout is generally an indication of the level of audience interest the artist has generated.

Low attendance creates a financial strain for everyone. Lower ticket sales mean reduced artist payouts and reduced income for TML, which can leave us unable to cover basic rent and operating costs. That is simply not sustainable for a volunteer-run organisation.

We will always do our part to promote your event. What you do beyond that is up to you, and the results of that involvement will ultimately speak for themselves.

Your success is our success. It also helps ensure TML remains a place where emerging artists can perform, and continue their journey. 😉
One final note: Our club license limits sound volumes to 86db @ 3m from source. We appreciate bands who respect this restriction and follow directions from the TML sound  engineer.
