The course will be open to all levels from absolute beginner to tertiary. Participants need to bring their own guitars (nylon stringed guitars are recommended as well as foot stools or similar devices, but not a must).
We will work with basic techniques in both hands, ensemble playing, learn about the diverse classical guitar repertoire, train our music reading skills and each will have the oppurtunity to perform solo at each session and get personal feedback.

Aim: Maximising Social opportunities for Individuals, who identify with a disability.

Our group of parents and participants meets on the 3 rd Sunday of each month at the old RSL Building “The Orb” 2 Main St, Atherton at 3pm -5pm, in a relaxed and friendly environment.

All interested parties welcomed to attend, to discuss and assist in
implementing ideas to enhance social engagement in a stimulating
environment within a limited budget, such as BBQ’s, Ten pin bowling, Disco’s etc. 

17/11: Sunday Jam Sessions

3pm/6pm til 10pm

Held each Sunday from 3pm -10pm with the exception of the First Sunday of the month for the Unplugged Jam 3pm to 5pm.

The Second Sunday Jam each month will have a central theme which is announced in advance to give everyone the opportunity to prepare.

Third Sunday each month when it's on from 6pm - 10pm while the THRIVE Monthly Music Gathering use the stage from 3pm - 5pm.

Fourth Sunday of the month will feature our 'House' band' who will be offering their expertise to all the jammers on the day and bring you their own special set and open jam at the end of the night.The Sunday Jams are our most popular events for the local community, local and visiting musicians and also tourists passing through. You never know who will turn up and what you'll hear!Free Entry.

21/11: Musicians Stage Craft / Beginners Night

6pm to 10pm

A free night with Col, Matt and Charmaine for new and experienced musicians to take advantage of support, encouragement, equipment and a stage to get started with performance skills.

22/11: Blue Reed

7:30pm til late

$8 / $10

Blue Reed play gypsy swing in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Sometimes fast and furious like the Captain Cook Highway on a Friday afternoon or slow and seductive like the Barron River on a Sunday afternoon. In the repertoire you will also find some classics as well as well known tunes given the gypsy swing touch.

01/12: UnPlugged Acoustic Sunday Jam

3pm- 5pm Unplugged jam hosted by Dave ( Fuzzy Pumpas)
Participants are asked to bring their instruments Guitar, harps, voice, shakers etc.
Relaxed afternoon for a good spot of jamming. Bring your songs along and get with some music enthusiasts for some great musical fun.
5pm - 10pm Blackboard session and jam. FREE ENTRY on a Sunday.
